The Student Engineering Council at the University of Texas at Austin, or SEC for short, is an organization composed of engineering students whose purpose is to serve students of the Cockrell School of Engineering on campus and in our surrounding communities.
The 3 pillars of the Student Engineering Council are:
- S – Serve the Cockrell School and beyond
- E – Enrich the academic experience of engineering students
- C – Cultivate an Engineering Community
There are a number of ways to get involved with SEC! If you don’t know where to start, come check out a General Meeting, every other Monday night, 7 PM in CPE 2.212 (on 11/22, 11/5, 11/19, 12/3 for Fall 2018). We will give updates on upcoming SEC events, current Senate and Student Government initiatives, and information on how to get involved. Plus dinner is provided!
Come to any of our scheduled committee meetings, found on our calendar page. If you want to get involved with a committee whose meeting conflicts with your schedule, or doesn’t have regular meetings posted, feel free to email the directors or any member of our officer team for more information.
