Service Committee

Service Committee Meetings: Every other Thursday, 6-7pm in RLM 5.118

Chairs: Caitlin Spofford , Albert Chan & Aftab Zindani

Overview:

The purpose of the Service Committee is to influence students in the Cockrell School of Engineering to be more involved in service projects that will benefit the Cockrell School of Engineering, UT, and the local Austin community. The Service Committee encourages and facilitates active participation in volunteer activities and projects. Our goal is to set an example for fellow students to follow and together we can make a difference in our school and local community.

Our involvement:

  • Every Fall & Spring semester, we help organize and run the Engineering Saturdays program through our semester annual "Project Kick-Off Party," K-12 Outreach Training, and communicating with various UT Engineeering student organizations that volunteer to host their event at the Austin Children's Museum. More information about EngrSATs can be found here.

  • Also, there are widely known service opportunities that both the Cockrell School and UT both put on throughout the year that we encourage all engineering students to participate, such as Explore UT, Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, Engineering Day at the Museum (EDAM), and Project UT.

  • Please check out the SEC Calendar for updated service project postings!!!
