Cheap Lunch

Have you ever been in that situation when you are in a 10 AM class, you forgot to eat breakfast, and your wallet has been empty since the beginning of the month when your mom gave you money to pay for your apartment's rent? How about if you are in that situation where your legs are so sore because you've been studying so much in ECJ, and you are too lazy to walk up the Dean Keeton mountain hill to get lunch at Kinsolving or Littlefield? If you answered YES to any of these questions, or you just flat out love bargains, the Cheap Lunch Committee has a solution for you!

The Cheap Lunch Committee was developed through SEC to provide, you guessed it, cheap, quick, and convenient lunches to engineering students right here at UT-Austin. Every Thursday, different organizations host the event through SEC in front of the CPE, selling 2 slices of pizza, chips, and a drink for only 2 dollars. Yes, 2 dollars, even we can't believe it!

So you may be wondering, why does SEC even host such a fantastic event? One reason is that it saves time and cash for us, engineering students, two things that we always seem to be needing! Cheap Lunch also encourages networking within the engineering community by allowing organizations to advertise themselves when they host the event. Furthermore, organizations are given an incentive of $100 dollars as event host, with the rest of the money raised being used to buy supplies for next week's Cheap Lunch!

With that being said, our mission is simply to provide a service to the engineering community by offering a cheap, quick, and convenient lunch to engineering students while encouraging networking and extracurricular involvement through Student organizations. If your organization is interested in hosting the event, don't hesitate to email us to the address below. Remember to stop by the tables from 11AM-2PM on Thursdays to snag your cheap lunch before they run out!
