The Student Engineering Council at the University of Texas at Austin, or SEC for short, is an organization composed of engineering students whose purpose is to represent students of the Cockrell School of Engineering on campus and in its surrounding communities.
The mission of the Student Engineering Council is:
To unite engineering students and their organizations on campus
To serve as the students' representative within the Cockrell School of Engineering
To provide resources to students for their initiatives that effect positive change
To offer committee and leadership experience to its members
There are a number of ways to get involved with SEC! If you don't know where to start, come check out a General Meeting, every other Monday night, 7 PM in ECJ 1.202. We will give updates on upcoming SEC events, current Senate and Student Government initiatives, and information on how to get involved. Plus dinner is provided!
Come to any of our scheduled committee meetings, found on our calender page. If you want to get involved with a committee whose meeting conflicts with your schedule, or doesn't have regular meetings posted, feel free to email the co-chairs or any member of our officer team for more information.
