The Halloween Canned Food Drive is an opportunity for colleges across campus to get involved within the Austin community during October. In this friendly competition, schools will compete against one another to collect the most cans. All collected cans and other food items will be donated to the Central Texas Food Bank.

Final Engineering Org Top Three:
- Team PGE
- 1 can donated = 1 point for your council. No distinction between size of can/type of food.
- No restrictions on the manner in which cans are obtained (i.e. can collection box in buildings)
- No monetary donations allowed (must be converted to cans).
Halloween Canned Food Drive Drop-off Event
When: October 31st, 1-4 pm
Where: East Mall
Who: Any student who wants to support one of the competing schools!
What: In a final showdown, schools will compete against one another to build a sculpture out of cans – otherwise known as “canstruction”. There will also be games, music, and snacks
How do I turn in my cans?
Each of the college councils is responsible for collecting their own cans, so please contact your council to find out where their donation boxes are located! Some donation locations are shown below:
Engineering: Student Engineering Council office located in the Anna Hiss Gymnasium between Monday and Friday.
Liberal Arts: PCL Entrance (near elevators), SAC 4th floor
Natural Sciences: Painter Hall across from room 5.60 next to the elevator.
For Engineering, organizations are competing against one another to raise the most cans – the winning organization will receive a prize! Cans can be collected at organization offices, or they can be brought directly to the Student Engineering Council office in the Anna Hiss Gymnasium.
