Did you know that the United States is the world leader in producing electronic waste, tossing away about 3 million tons each year. The goal of the electronic waste drive is to encourage proper disposable of electronic waste by collecting household items such as computers, cell phones, printers, scanners, and other electronic devices.
E-Cycling is an annual electronics recycling drive that the Student Engineering Council at The University of Texas organizes to give the Austin community a quick and convenient method to dispose of potentially hazardous electronic waste that cannot be thrown out with the regular garbage. Each year, we are able to keep several thousand pounds of old electronics out of landfills and in facilities where they can be correctly disposed of and possibly recycled! Do your part to make Austin a little greener and bring your electronics to E-cycling 2017!
